With Community Partners of Dallas’ 2021 Change Is Good going virtual yesterday, on monitors and TV screens, the top teams of coin collectors and T-shirt designers were officially announced. However, the coin-collecting winners were surprised the week before just like the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, when CPD President/CEO Paige McDaniel and CPD Development and Communications VP Joanna Clarke showed up at their front doors.
Organizers admitted that the competition had been fierce and topped the 2020 coin collection. First place went to Caroline Polosky and Claire Polosky and Kennedy Moore and Ryan Moore, who just thought they were celebrating Ryan’s 13th birthday. Last year’s third-place winner, 3½-year-old Faye Fernandez, worked her contacts and as a result came in second place. The Gray team of sisters Brooke Gray, Cate Gray and Caroline Gray came in third place, specifically targeting their goal based on Brooke turning 16 last month.
Here are the results of the change gathering that amounted to a whopping $5,639.20 using both in-person and online resources:
- 1st Place – Team Moore/Polosky $2,287.24
- 2nd Place – Team Fernandez $1,726.80
- 3rd Place – Team Gray $1,616.16
As for the T-shirt designers, they amazed even their parents with 10-year-old Margaret Shufeldt‘s artwork on the front and 10-year-old Luke Conlon‘s design on the back. Joanna fessed up that thanks to the space theme, the results were out-of-this-world from the budding artists!
Congratulations to all the kids who put their change-gathering and artistic talents to work to help countless children who are victims of abuse and neglect.
