When Women’s Council for the Dallas Arboretum President Lisa Loy Laughlin and 2022 Mad Hatter’s Tea Chair Claire Catrino were brainstorming themes, in hindsight they might have wished they had come up with “Gone With The Wind.” That’s because the annual fundraiser on Wednesday, April 20, had 20 MPH gusts raising everything from fascinators to wide-brimmed sunhats.
Instead they proved loyal to Big D with the theme “Dallas” for the 530 guests to compete for “top” awards in seven categories.
Still, as any veteran of the annual see-and-be-seen knows, the Mad Hatter’s Tea is full of surprises, and this one was a horse-of-a-different color … literally.
